It is with mixed emotions that I announce I will be closing my medical practice effective 10/10/25. It has been an honor to care for you and your family over the years, and I am deeply grateful for your trust.  We will be closing in one month from today our private practice.

It has been my dream to end my practice in a teaching capacity and so have accepted a new job, teaching residents in Dallas.   I will therefore be closing my practice and will no longer be available to provide medical care.

You may choose any physician you wish for your future care. If you need assistance finding a new doctor, you may contact the Tarrant County Medical Society at (817) 732-2825 or visit their website for a list of physicians accepting new patients.  

We will be available assist you over the next month in finding a new provider to accept your care. Your insurance provider will also have a list of local providers in your network.

Your medical records are confidential and can only be released with your written authorization. You have the right to your records. My staff will assist you in transferring your records to your new provider.  After 30 days, record requests can be submitted to our website at darrentatemd.com.  All records requests after 10/10/25 will be processed in 5 business days,

If you have not chosen a new provider and have an urgent medical need after 10/10/25, please visit the nearest emergency department or dial 911.
